About Our Doctor

Eye care professionals specialize in understanding how the human eye really works, as well as diseases and conditions that affect your vision - many of which do not have obvious symptoms. Eye doctors know how age and risk factors affect vision over time for young and old, and they understand the benefits and features of corrective lenses including eyeglasses and contacts.

Our optometrist takes the time to explain the results of your eye exam, describe your options and listen to your eye care needs. Because maintaining good eye health is an ongoing partnership, we encourage you to ask questions and share your health information, which could be vital to monitoring, diagnosing and treating potential vision problems.

Meet our Chickasha Eye Doctor:

Robert A. Fulton, O.D. – Chickasha Eye Doctor

Robert A. Fulton received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 2008 from Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He completed his externship in family eye care in Oklahoma City emphasizing corneal refractive therapy, laser procedures, and children’s vision development.

Dr. Fulton has cared for patients since 2008 in the Oklahoma City area and in July of 2011 he started Fulton EyeCare Center and moved with his wife and children to Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Dr. Fulton has extensive experience in family eye care, dry eye management, glaucoma evaluation and treatment, cataracts, ocular disease, retinopathy, laser surgery, and ocular trauma. He also enjoys fitting bifocal contacts and Ortho-K lenses (lenses that you can sleep in and correct your vision).

Early in his career Dr. Fulton knew he wanted to make children’s vision a primary component of his practice. As anticipated, Dr. Fulton opened Fulton Vision Development Center soon after starting Fulton EyeCare Center. He has successfully treated children with eye development issues and visual-related learning problems, as well as, therapeutically straightened many eye-turns (strabismus) without surgery. If you believe that you are a candidate for vision therapy, or if you would like to learn more, check out our page all about vision therapy.

Dr. Fulton is currently working with the Lion’s Club to give vision care to those who may not be able to afford an exam and glasses. He also does free eye exams for all infants 6-18 months of age to ensure they have a normal prescription for their age and they are reaching their visual-developmental milestones. Additionally, and new to 2019, Dr. Fulton is performing free Developmental Vision Screenings to find those that might be missed in a traditional eye exam.

He is also Oklahoma State licensed in ocular pharmaceutical agents and minor surgical procedures including anterior segment lasers.

Professional memberships include the American Optometric Association, the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians, and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. Dr. Fulton received his board certification from the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. The FCOVD board certification is a prestigious honor that takes 1-2 years to complete and many hours of studying and clinical reports. There are currently only six other doctors in the state of Oklahoma with these credentials. FCOVD doctors are considered specialists in the field of Vision Therapy and Behavior or Developmental Optometry.

Other interests of Dr. Fulton include spending time with his wife (Holley) and four children (Caden, Wyatt, Weston, and Whitley), snow skiing, water skiing, home remodeling, motorcycles, and technology.
